Joe Cannon comes to MSA Camps after acquiring a wealth of knowledge from a 16 year professional career. In the last decade and a half, Cannon has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in Major League Soccer history.
In addition to numerous accolades, Cannon was also recognized as San Jose Earthquakes Humanitarian of the Year in 2000 and 2008 for his philanthropic work with the Independent Peer Socialization Training Program, which helps members of society with autism and other neurological disorders.
Cannon has also coached a considerable amount in the club and college ranks. A USSF "B" license holder, he was head coach of the Burlingame Dragons of the PDL (Premier Development League), and has worked with players from Notre Dame-Belmont, Colorado School of Mines, Santa Clara, Stanford, San Diego State, and the University of British Columbia. On the club scene, Cannon has helped players from Colorado Rush, Vancouver United, De Anza Force, Sunnyvale Alliance, Alpine Strikers, and now works full time with his former youth club, MVLA, as Executive Director.
